Where is You’re Sew Creative! located?
YSC is located at 308 SE Jackson Street, Roseburg, Oregon.
How old does my child have to be to take classes?
YSC takes students that are from 8 to 16 years old.
Does my child need to bring a sewing machine?
No. I provide all the supplies your child will need, including a sewing machine.
How much do classes cost?
The cost of classes depends on how many weeks the class meets, but is equivalent to $22 per 75-minute lesson (see class schedule).
I missed the start date for a class my child is interested in. Can I still sign him/her up?
Yes, in most cases I can find a spot for your child to fit in, whether it be with other students or by themselves. The price for the class will be prorated.
Do I have to pay for my child’s class all at once?
No. You can pay one month at a time or even by the week if you wish. However, you will need to pay for the entire class even if your child misses any lessons. For missed lessons, you will have the option of scheduling a make-up time for your child.
I have more than one child who wishes to sign up for a class. Will they both have to pay the same rate?
No. If your children wish to sign up for the same class (same time and date), you will be charged full price for one child and 50% off for the other child(ren) living in the same household. If your children attend different classes, you will be charged full price for one child and 40% off for any additional child(ren).
My child is interested in taking a class, but can’t come every week. Can other arrangements be made?
Yes, I have made exceptions in the past for students to attend only 3 or even 2 lessons per month (every other week). Students will be expected to attend the agreed-upon number of lessons each month or schedule make-up lessons should any be missed.
Can I drop my child off or am I expected to stay while my she/he is in class?
Parents are encouraged to stay for the FIRST lesson if they wish, but after that (unless other arrangements have been made) it is generally preferred that parents do not stay while their child is in class.

How many students will be in my child’s class?
I have found that the most effective student to teacher ratio is, at most, 3 to 1. With only one teacher, classes will be very small. Your child may be the only student or could have as many as two classmates in attendance with him/her. However, once another teacher or helper is hired, classes may be as large as six students. It is not expected classes will grow to be larger than that.
